Wedding photograph in Belfast, Northern Ireland

The girl in the photograph below is the brides little sister and I suppose like all seven year olds she just couldn’t wait to put her dress on and do a twirl! As she went downstairs to join the other older bridesmaids I knew she might show off the dress and ‘offer up’ the chance of another photograph.

This photograph really works in colour. And although these days we shoot mostly everything in colour digitally not all photos are necessarily shot ‘for’ colour.

The pink of her dress as she twirls around, the green of the trees in the garden and the lamp on the right all give the image depth and she really stands out in the colour image – not so in black and white.

The other quirk of this photo in colour are the wonderful socks on the left – did you spot them?
