Slieve Russell Wedding
Notes from the Photographer
Here’s a few notes from my archive of a few of my favourite photos from Geraldine and Padraig’s Slieve Russell wedding that I photographed a couple of weeks ago.
A beautiful moment between two sisters in the family home during the bridal preparations. I really liked the alternative view through this reflection in the mirror.
It had been raining overnight and most of the morning of the wedding day and the ground was very wet all throughout County Leitrim. The clouds lifted just as Geraldine arrived for the ceremony at church and I loved this picture of her about to get out of the car. The light, her expression, the reflection of the sky in the windows of the car – a great moment.
I really liked this photograph – a simple storytelling image from the wedding.
During the drinks reception I’m always on the look-out for people just being themselves. I really liked this photo a lot because of the black and white lines in the background and the little cups of tea on the table. The photography that interests me is all about shapes, lines and at the heart of the picture an expression or gesture from a person (who is camera unaware).
I loved this photo – again it’s all about the lines and the shapes from the window framing the gesture of the little girl wondering about what’s outside. The rain had returned.
