This summer I was delighted to find myself back in Castle Leslie in Co Monaghan three times in just over a week. All three of my Castle Leslie Estate weddings were spectacular in their own way and I am pleased to be able to share some images from the first one here. Janine and Robbie tied the knot up in Janine’s hometown of Omagh before heading down to Castle Leslie for a fabulous reception.
Here are some highlights by way of a slideshow and some of my favourite photographs below. I hope you enjoy them!
“Hi Dylan – Thank you so much for the slideshow, gallery and package of prints. It was a wonderful surprise. There have been so many little moments captured that we either didn’t see at the time, or have no memory of, so it is been really nice to go through them all. Best wishes, Janine”
Amongst my favourite images of the day were when Janine emerged all ready in her dress and walked down the stairway of her home. Her Daddy had been waiting patiently for a few minutes at the bottom and it was lovely to capture these moments for them. Janine was the first daughter in the family to be married and I’m sure that’s always a special time for every family.
After documenting the moments in the house it was a short drive into Omagh town centre to the Church of the Sacred Heart for the wedding ceremony. The main aisle of the church was sumptuously decorated with beautiful flowers from Karen at House of Elliott in Lisburn. I really enjoyed photographing the interiors of the church and also the little exchanges between J&R during and just after the ceremony. The atmosphere outside after the ceremony was fantastic as friends and family congratulated Janine and Robbie in the beautiful summer sunshine before they departed for Castle Leslie about half an hour later.
On arrival at Castle Leslie we decided to take advantage of the dry weather and quiet house by escaping down to the lake for a few quick photographs and five/ten minutes together. By the time we arrived back up to the house friends had started to gather on the steps and in the gardens for champagne and canapés. For the next couple of hours we had a wonderful time exploring the various rooms in the house and soaking up the joys of great company, conversation, wine and food. Before dinner we took a few family photos in the garden (and then in the library once the rain showers rolled in).
Then it was in to the fabulous marquee for dinner and speeches. I especially loved the surprise re-reading of Janine’s note to Robbie and photographing all of the reactions especially during Janine’s Fathers speech. The marquee looked absolutely amazing and it was lovely to photograph Janine and Robbie laughing almost the whole way through their first dance. It was a fantastic end to a beautiful day and I can’t wait to be back next year for my some more Castle Leslie Estate weddings.
I hope you enjoy this small selection of photographs!
