Carton House weddings take place in an historic estate and great house that was the ancestral seat of the Earls of Kildare and Dukes of Leinster. Just 15 miles west of Dublin, Carton House is located next to Maynooth in County Kildare.
Weddings can either take place in the beautiful Old House, which retains all the charm of it’s 17th century heritage with exquisite detailing or in the larger more modern ballroom at the other end of the building.
Situated on Dublin’s doorstep in the heart of a historic 1,100 acre private parkland estate, Carton house is effortlessly luxurious and authetnically romantic. It is one of my favourite wedding venues near Dublin. The following three reasons are why Carton House weddings are always fantastic, memorable events:
1 Carton House weddings exude 17th century period glamour. The ‘Gold Salon’ was originally reserved for the Duke’s grand occasions and boasts regal ‘Baroque’ interiors with traditional French doors opening out onto fabulous manicured gardens.
2 Carton House weddings can be in the Old House which is perfect for weddings up to 120 people. The more modern ballroom can also host larger evening wedding receptions.
3 The bridal suite upstairs is a perfect space in which to prepare for the wedding. With beautiful tall windows letting in lots of natural light it’s a perfect space to enjoy the pre-wedding time with family and close friends.
