Barberstown Castle is a gorgeous hotel with luxurious accommodation and exceptional service that is located only half an hour from Dublin. This unique and elegant venue is an ideal location for Dublin ceremonies and your guests will love the fact that it’s not too far away from the city. The original castle dates back to the thirteenth century and the venue is a superb choice for any Dublin, Kildare or Meath wedding. I have photographed several Barberstown Castle weddings over the years and the venue is one of my favourites in the Dublin and Kildare area.
Barberstown Castle has had some eclectic owners over the years from Nicholas Barby in 1288, to Eric Clapton in 1979. A member of Ireland’s Blue Book, the hotel’s accommodation is superb and every room is uniquely decorated and luxuriously appointed with stunning antique furniture. The hotel offers 55 bedrooms and each room is named after someone famous who has stayed there.
Barberstown Castle can seat 250 guests for both ceremonies and the reception and the hotel is a great mix of the antique and the modern. The fact that it’s so close to Dublin and the dining spaces are indoors make it a great all year round venue.
The following are among the top 3 reasons that Barberstown Castles weddings are always unique, luxurious and memorable affairs:
1. Barberstown Castle’s rich and colourful heritage makes it a real treasure with more than 800 years of stories to recite next to its glowing fireplaces.
2. Barberstown Castle’s gardens are a wonderful backdrop for wedding photographs of the bridal party and families. Whilst the 16th century Banquet Hall is a great area to enjoy the evening celebrations.
3. Exquisite cuisine, and top level service make Barberstown Castle the perfect choice for the perfect wedding.
